Hi Lovers! It's been a while. Life's been groovy and busy and rad. I wanted to share some gorgeous photos with you [duh] but I also wanted to share a personal story that has inspired me to sit down to write this blog. Khalisa's great aunt, Myra, recently passed away from Lung Cancer. She was 95 years old. Trust me, she squeezed every last bit of life out of life. Even in her 90's she was making plans with friends to attend art gallery openings, plays, host Oscar Parties and savor her frequent cups coffee and occasional glass of wine. When we would visit she would always engage us in meaningful conversations and she'd school us on current events. We left our visits with her inspired to live with more passion, challenge ourselves, learn more and find humor in all things. We left our visits with a subscription to The New Yorker.
We had the chance to see her just days before her passing and what she told us will resonate with me forever: Surround yourself with interesting people. Don't ever stop stimulating yourself. If you're invited to something and you want to cancel because you're feeling not up for it, DON'T. GO. LIVE. You never know who you're going to meet or how your life will change because of it.
Pursuing photography and video making has been a gift for me these past few years. It has blessed me with the opportunity to constantly put myself out there, changeling myself to always do better, learn more, and connect deeper with those I work with. As a result, I have met the most amazing people, and my life will forever be changed. I'm looking forward to many more years of using my camera with intention. And sharing all the beautiful moments with you [duh].
Here's a little peak from one of those incredible times where you just say yes and meet your clients for the first time in a beautiful mountain setting for their engagement session and they have the best style, love for each other, and are incredibly sweet and interesting. Don't you just love when that happens? I do.
